Adventure World in Perth has officially launched Bounty’s Revenge II, a bold reimagining of the park’s much-loved swinging ship that dominated the skyline for three decades.
The new attraction welcomed its first riders on 18 December 2025, marking the return of an Adventure World icon almost ten years after the original Bounty’s Revenge was decommissioned.
The park has not simply replaced the classic ride—it has reinvented the pirate ship experience with a world-first feature called 'Flying Passage – The Thrill of Free Flight'.

At the peak of the ship’s massive 19.5-metre arc, the propulsion system disengages completely, allowing the gondola to travel through the dock with no contact and no resistance. Riders continue through several natural, free swings before the drive suddenly re-engages, blasting the ship back to full height for another unexpected surge of adrenaline.
According to Adventure World, this innovative cycle creates multiple standout moments in a single ride: bursts of weightlessness, powerful propulsion kicks, and waves of sustained airtime that keep the thrill level high right up until the final smooth arrival back in the dock. The attraction reaches the same imposing swing angle as its predecessor, but with a far more dynamic rhythm that is unlike any other pirate ship operating worldwide.
The original Bounty’s Revenge opened in the mid-1990s and quickly became a rite of passage for generations of West Australian theme park fans. With its return, Adventure World is leaning heavily into nostalgia, framing the sequel as a ship that “never stayed silent forever.” The ride area features refreshed maritime theming and a dramatic lighting package designed to evoke a vessel cutting through stormy mist at night.
Importantly for enthusiasts, the park confirmed that Bounty’s Revenge II officially opened on 18 December 2025, just in time for the busy summer season. Early guest feedback on social media has praised the free-flight drop as “terrifying in the best way” and a genuine evolution of a ride type that has changed little in recent years.
Bounty’s Revenge II represents the park's most significant ride investment since Abyss in 2013 and positions the Perth park once again as an innovator within Australia. While pirate ships are common staples across the country, none offer a propulsion disengagement system of this kind, making the attraction a compelling draw for interstate visitors.
