Sydney’s iconic harbourfront amusement park is set to host its first-ever Pride Celebration event, with a colourful evening of performances and attractions planned for Friday 27th February 2026.

The event marks a brand-new addition to the park’s entertainment calendar, celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community with live entertainment, themed experiences, and optional unlimited rides.

Luna Park Sydney's special event takes place a day before the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday 28th February 2026.

Free Entry, Ticketed Rides Available

The Pride Celebration will be a free-entry event, meaning visitors can attend the performances and enjoy the festive atmosphere without purchasing a ticket. Guests who want to experience the park’s attractions can upgrade with an Unlimited Rides Pass, which provides access to rides throughout the day.

The park will operate from 10am to 8pm, allowing visitors to enjoy daytime attractions before the evening’s Pride festivities begin.

Live Performances and Entertainment

Headlining the new Pride Celebration is drag performer Luna Sparks, who will take the Coney Island stage at 6pm for two performances. Following the shows, guests will have opportunities for meet-and-greets and photos.

From 4pm, roaming entertainers across the Midway, including stiltwalkers and a magician, will deliver pop-up performances leading into the main show.

Rainbow Lighting and Themed Atmosphere

Throughout the evening, the park’s Ferris Wheel will be illuminated in rainbow colours, creating a Pride-themed visual centrepiece and photo backdrop. However, the attraction itself will not be operating due to scheduled maintenance.

Ride Pass Details

Although entry to the celebration is free, visitors can purchase a Yellow Unlimited Rides Pass (for guests 132cm and taller), with online advance pricing starting from $44. Participating attractions include fan favourites such as the park’s signature roller coasters and family rides.

A New Event for Sydney’s Theme Park Calendar

The introduction of a Pride Celebration reflects a growing trend of Australian theme parks expanding their seasonal event offerings beyond traditional holiday periods. As one of the country’s most recognisable amusement destinations, Luna Park Sydney is positioning the event as both a celebration and a new entertainment drawcard for visitors to Sydney.
